Environment preparation:
1. At present, there is a domain controller
2. Prepare a Windows server 2019 as the RDS server and add a domain
3. Add the RDS host to the Terminal Server License Servers group in the domain controller

Remote Desktop License installation steps:

1. Add Remote Desktop Licensing Service
Server Management – ​​Add Roles and Features – Open the Add Roles and Features wizard window, choose role-based or given feature installation:

Add Remote Desktop Services functionality:

Add Remote Desktop Session Host and Remote Desktop Licensing features:

After installation, restart the server.

2. Configure RDS

Open Remote Desktop Licensing Manager

currently inactive

Right click and select activate server

Open the server activation wizard, click Next

Select Web browser as the connection method, and click Next:

Open https://activate.microsoft.com URL, select to activate the license server

Enter the product ID, write the company name casually

Confirmation information:

Obtain the license ID and fill in the license ID

You can activate RDS

After clicking YES on the web page, select the enterprise agreement, and click Next:

Select the access license per user, the agreement number can be filled in 6565792, 4954438, 6879321 or 5296992, and the number can be filled in any number; after the next step, confirm the information and continue to the next step;

Get the license key pack ID:

Fill in the obtained license key package ID into the activation wizard:

Note: Although the server has been activated in the picture above, but there is a yellow exclamation mark, it still cannot be used. Click Review to check. This problem means that the host has not been added to the Terminal Server License Servers group of the domain controller when preparing the environment.
If you cannot join directly by clicking Add to Group, you need to log in to the domain controller to add the host to the group.

After adding the group, restart the RDS server, check the following after restarting, it is really completed

3. How to use the RDS server to activate the server that needs to remotely control multiple accounts at the same time

First, you need to install the RDS service on the server that needs to be configured. For details, refer to step 1.
Server Management – ​​Add Roles and Features – Opens the Add Roles and Features wizard window, choose role-based or given feature installation – only need to add Remote Desktop Session Host

Then open Group Policy —> Run and enter gpedit.msc

At Computer Configuration–>Administrative Templates–>Windows Components–>Remote Desktop Services–>Remote Desktop Session Host–>Licensing change Use the specified Remote Desktop license servers and Set the Remote Desktop licensing mode.

Use the specified Remote Desktop license servers –> Enable and fill in the RDS server IP address

Set the Remote Desktop licensing mode–> Enable and select Per User

After the setting is complete, restart the host and open the Remote Desktop Licensing Diagnoser
